GrOW is different from any existing similar organizations. GrOW is dedicated to stopping pedophile predators before the crime by continually and constantly teaching (and reinforcing with) entire communities actions and safeguards that are most likely to thwart and frustrate the efforts of child sexual predators. These predators are constantly, without pause, probing and watching for unguarded children upon whom to carry out their evil compulsions. An organization with the absolute and uncompromising determination to establish and execute effective programs, in communities nationwide, to stop these predators is desperately needed.

GrOW is that organization. GrOW is completely community based, whereas most similar existing organizations are either Internet or media based. These organizations thus are passive in their outreach, usually only accessed after the fact of the crime – Often too late to save the child. And most of these organizations similar to GrOW are primarily concerned with the aftermath of child rape, which is a necessary and vital concern, but this is not an area in which GrOW will operate. It is important to note that GrOW programs address all forms of child rape and molestation, from familial molesters to stranger abductions. (It is also important to note that GrOW does not speak directly to children, only to the adult community).

GrOW is proactive and vigorous in its outreach. GrOW has a department dedicated to contacting civic, faith, commercial entities and even interest-oriented community groups to schedule presentations by the education and awareness department. We will have a department dedicated to court and sex offender registry monitoring, as well as a media, legal and legislative watch. In its methods and aims, GrOW takes MADD as a primary organizational model.

Most GrOW programs are straightforward and direct person-to-person operations. GrOW can be very effective almost from its first day of operation in a community. Once recruitment and training functions are fulfilled at the community level, the GrOW education programs require only a phone call to schedule the educational presentation and a presenter to make the presentation. The basic court watch program requires only a coordinator and the volunteer GrOW Representatives for the Children to attend the sentencing of convicted child rapists and molesters. Other programs, such as community events about child I.D. and locator products, law enforcement support and other similar community participation programs require only that GrOW organize or coordinate, and publicize them.
